Pregnancy Brain

I had my first super embarrassing pregnancy brain moment. I went to drop my car off at the dealership to get serviced. For some reason, I had a really hard time finding the service department, despite the really large sign that said "Service". I finally got there after having to ask for directions. I went inside and got all checked in. They then came to tell me my loaner car was ready. The guy walked me out and said "It's the black 3 series", and I said "The one on the right or on the left?" and he nicely replied "The one on the left". As I walked to the car, I realized there was NO car on the right, it was actually a reflection in the mirrored wall! I think this is definitely my most ditzy moment. Am I allowed to blame it on the baby?

20, 21, and 22 weeks

We have been out of town for the last couple of weeks, so I am a little behind on bump posts, but we did take the pictures even on vacation. So here are three weeks in one.

Week 20

Banana, 7 inches, 11 ounces

Week 21

Spaghetti squash, 8 inches, 1 pound

Week 22

Papaya, 8 inches, 1.2 pounds

I definitely think I popped over the last few weeks =)

March Monthly check up

Yesterday I had my monthly appointment with my OB. She reviewed the ultra sound I had last week with me. Right now, baby Te is measuring 5 days ahead of schedule. This really doesn't mean anything, just some random information. The other thing that was noted during the ultrasound is that I have a low lying placenta. My OB doesn't really consider it all that low, but the physician interpreting the ultra sound did. Most of the time, this will correct itself. I will have another ultrasound at 28 weeks to see if it did or not. If it does not change, then I may have to have a cesarean. I have decided to stay away from google and leave myself in the dark about all the details. She said not to worry, and I know if I look it up I will see worst case scenarios and begin to worry.

Exciting news today is that I am 100% sure I felt the baby move. This is the first time I have been sure that he is moving around and I could tell. Yay!

Mardis Gras

In honor of Fat Tuesday, Charles and I decided to make a King Cake. And for the record, when I say Charles and I, I mean it. He was a big help with this!

We used this recipe: http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/king-cake/Detail.aspx The main reason I chose this one was because it had a cream cheese filling.

Here is the process in photos:

It is pretty time consuming because you have to let the yeast set and then let the dough rise a couple of times. Overall, it was pretty good. Charles and I agreed that next time, we will double the cream cheese filling part!

I have decided that since I am pregnant, I will not be giving anything up for lent this year. I am going to take something up instead. It is going to be to exercise regularly. I am doing it, but it is way to random and infrequent, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get on a schedule again. Charles is still undecided.

It's a boy!

Baby Boy Te at 18 weeks, 5 days:

And the proof that it's a boy. The ultrasound tech kindly added an arrow in the first picture and a circle in the second, just in case you weren't sure what you were looking at!
